Guided by our mission to deliver healthy food , our company grew as a soybean specialist. Our main products are tofu, or bean curd, miso paste, and soy milk.
As for over seas production, we have a plant in Ohio, USA. Tofu and soy milk are produced there and are sold in North America. We also have a miso paste production line near Shanghai.

How’s business in China?

Our products including miso paste have been popular there. but with the Chinese economy slowing down, sales are expected to level off soon.

Good morning, everyone. I’m Naotaya Kitano, head of marketing at Yoyogi foods in Singapore.
First, I’m going to talk about our activities.
And then my colleague Lucy will do a cooking demonstration. We won’t have a separate Q and A session, so please feel free to interrupt us at anytime. We’d like to this occasion to be informal and interactive. After all, this isn’t a shareholder’s meeting, right?
Will we have a chance to try some samples?
Of course you will. That will come immediately after the cooking demonstration.

To begin with, let me touch upon the history of our company. Our founder, Yoichiro Nakata, started growing soybeans near Tokyo in 1947 when there were still food shortages. Nakata thought soybeans could be an ideal substitute for meet.
Was that because soybeans contain essential nutrients?
That’s right. Soybeans are refferred to as ‘meat of the fields’ in Japan, because they cntain protein and other important nutrients. Nakata set up a company in Yoyogi, Tokyo. That’s where the company name comes from.

New Train Driver Assumes Post

新人の列車運転士が職務に就く Part1

The 2011 earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan have affected people in many different ways. For one young woman in Iwate Prefecture, the disaster was what gave her a sense of purpose in life.

Seika Utsunomiya was in her first year of senior high school in the city of Miyako when the disaster struck. The tsunami washed away a large part of the Sanriku Railway line that runs along the coast. Witnessing the destruction, she set her mind on becoming a train driver.

Utsunomiya, now 23, drove her first train on Saturday. “ My passengers entrust their lives to me. I’m feeling that strongly today,” she told reporters. “ I feel a deep sense of responsibility.” The rail line was fully restored in 2014, becoming a key symbol of recovery in the area. Utsunomiya joined the railway company in April last year.
As the local media repeatedly covered the young trainee’s aspiration, she has become a symbol of rebirth as well. She is only the second female driver at the company.
